This is a story of Kiran, a triumphant woman from a patriarchal environment who rose to become a known professor in JNU. She fell in love with an army brat Abhimanyu and married him but the destiny wished her otherwise. She lost her husband in a fierce battle against Pakistan. Inspite of lot of societal pressure , she refused to marry the younger brother of slain army officer and married her cousin sister Arya’s husband Abhinandan. Arya was not medically capable of having her own biological kid to give an HEIR to the family. Arya was constantly tortured and insulted. Kiran with the content of her sister Arya married Abhinandan and was blessed with a baby boy. Kiran gave the most precious gift, her son to Arya. Arya was a proud mother now and the gift was ANMOL , THE HEIR APPARENT. Kiran’s sacrifice was an example of the biggest sacrifice possibly by a woman. By doing this Kiran has erased and exposed the ages old tenets of our Patriarchal society.
